By installing or using TapeIt, you agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement. If you do not agree to these terms do not install. (2) Installation ================= Required operating system: Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP Installation is quite easy. Make sure that your Windows Explorer is configured to show system files, otherwise you won't see VST plugin files in the Explorer because VST plugins are ".dll" files which are system files to Windows. Then, copy the two files "TapeIt.dll" "TapeIt.chm" to the VST plug-in folder of your audio application. Please see the manual of your VST host program for details on where to find that folder. Usually its name is "vstplugins" and it is located in the folder where you have installed your audio application. Next time you start your audio application, "TapeIt" should show up in your effect rack. If you wish to uninstall this plugin, simply delete the above files from the VST plugin folder. (3) Supported Applications =========================== Basic requirements: Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP. Internet Explorer 4.1 or later (for viewing documentation in HTMLHelp format). In principle, this VST plugin should run with any audio software on the Windows platform that is able to host VST plugins. It has been tested with Steinberg Cubase VST and WaveLab. It should also run with Emagic Logic Audio and Steinberg Nuendo. If you experience any compatibility problems with your VST audio software, please email to tapeit@silverspike.com If your audio application doesn't support VST but DirectX (e.g. Sonic Foundry Sound Forge, Vegas, Cakewalk Pro Audio, Sonic Foundry ACID, SEK'D Samplitude) you still can use VST plugins. All you need is a VST/DirectX wrapper. Such a wrapper can host a VST plugin but behaves like a DirectX plugin to the outside world. VST/DirectX wrappers are available from: Spin Audio (VST-DX Wrapper) http://www.spinaudio.com fXpansion (VST-DX Adapter) http://www.fxpansion.com Kirill Katsnelson (DirectiXer) http://www.tonewise.com/DirectiXer (4) Documentation ================== HTMLHelp online documentation can be found in the file "TapeIt.chm". You can open this help file by clicking the question mark button in the plugin's info page. Alternatively, you can open the help file by double-clicking on it in Windows Explorer.
